*NOTE: This is a general schedule. Students enrolled in Living Learning Communities and other programs which require early move-in should follow the instructions and schedule they receive via email from their program.
We offer two Come-to-Campus Options; DROP-OFF and MOVE-IN:
DROP-OFF
Students may choose to participate in DROP OFF between August 4th – 7th where you can bring their belongings, set up your room for Fall and return home until classes start. Students unable to make one of these dates, will MOVE IN between August 18th and 20th in advance of classes starting.
We encourage students and families that are able, to consider the DROP OFF option, allowing the MOVE IN period to be more manageable for Out of State students and others that are not able to drop off in advance. The Drop Off option is not available in Cotten, Fleming, and Jarvis Halls because these halls are being used for the current summer session.
Students who wish to take advantage of DROP OFF will need to use the link included in their assignment email to sign-up for one 2-hour time slot for your assigned Hall. Please keep this 2-hour limit in mind as you consider which day/time slot will best fit your schedule. The emailed link will close at midnight on August 2nd.
Arrival for Classes for those Who Used the Drop Off Option
On Friday (after 6 pm), Saturday, and Sunday – August 20, 21, and 22 students that utilized the earlier Drop Off option will return to campus to prepare for classes. Returning during this window is not to be another move-in period. The Drop Off period is for you to utilize to set up your room before classes.
- For your return, you will need to follow ECU COVID Safety Protocols. More information will be forthcoming to your student email.
- You will be able to unload in the loading areas in the vicinity of your residence hall or park in your assigned parking area and then use ECU Transit or walk to your residence hall. You will receive additional instructions in your ECU email a few days before this Arrival for Classes period begins.
- Students are encouraged to consider arriving at non-peak times: Early Mornings, or Early Evening- avoiding afternoons as much possible.
MOVE-IN
Tuesday, August 17, 2021:

- Open to ALL students without pre-registering.
- Available noon - 10:00 pm
- Early Move-In Fee: $120 will be billed to student account.
- Neighborhood Services Offices Locations: Central/West Neighborhoods- West End Dining Hall & College Hill Neighborhood- Ballard East
- There may be Limited Parking/Directional Support during these periods.
– AND –
- Early Move-In for specific LLC Programs (without additional fee – eligible students will be notified)
Wednesday, August 18- Friday, August 20:
PRIMARY Move-In Days
- Scheduled Hours by residence hall and in some cases by specific floors.
- Main Check-In @ Minges “Hall of Fame” 9am to 5pm. Based on hall/floor schedule link below. These windows are in position to maximize parking, elevator use (if applicable) and volunteer placement. Please label all your boxes/items clearly, use boxes or containers whenever possible, and be aware that passenger use of elevators during these times may be limited.
- After Hours Move-In @ Neighborhood Services Offices
- Wednesday and Thursday – 7 pm to 10 pm
- $60 After Hours Check-In Fee will be billed to student account
- No pre-registering needed
- Neighborhood Services Offices Locations: Central/West Neighborhoods- West End Dining Hall & College Hill Neighborhood- Ballard East
*Additional instructions will be emailed to students before Move-In to their ECU email account

- Move-In Window for Returning White Hall students and students who could not move in during scheduled times.
- Hours:
- Friday 7:00pm – 10:00pm
- Saturday 9:00am – 10:00pm
- Sunday 9:00am – 10:00pm (recommended for returning students only)
- Neighborhood Services Offices Locations: Central/West- West End Dining Hall & College Hill- Ballard East
- No additional check in fees.

When/how does move-in work? Will we be able to pull cars close to our kid’s dorm to load belongings into bins? Had another child at a different college who had committees of students greet cars, unload and transport belongings...see more
Where is the best place to park? We don't have a nifty cart like in the picture so will have to make a few different trips to the car.
