Ask Your Pirate

Our goal is to help keep the conversation flowing between you and your student! Of course, chatting about what your binging on Netflix is fun and builds connection, but we want to keep you in the loop about what your student might be experiencing throughout the semester. These conversation starters will help you have important discussions with your student related to campus resources, academics, and their development as young adults.

How are you reconnecting with your friends on campus?

• Building a community at ECU is beneficial for every student. After a long break, it’s important for your student to reconnect with roommates, friends, and classmates before the semester gets too busy.

Are there any classes you are excited about this semester?

• Yes, school can be stressful, but helping remind your student what they like or love about their major and courses will help them stay motivated.

Have you made plans to visit Career Services?

• The earlier a student visits the Career Center, the better! It’s never too early to begin thinking about job options your major provides, internships, resume building, interview skills, etc. Students can see all that Career Services offers and schedule an appointment at https://career.ecu.edu/
