CPOS, a U.S. Department of Education requirement, only considers courses toward a student’s program of study for financial aid eligibility, and ECU begins monitoring compliance with Spring 2024 registration. A student’s full-time financial aid eligibility depends on a minimum of twelve (12) undergraduate hours or nine (9) graduate hours from their program of study each spring and fall semester. If credit hours do not meet this requirement, financial aid eligibility is reduced. Dropped classes or a mistimed change of major may also reduce financial aid, so students may want to check with their academic advisor if they have questions about a course. Encourage your student to review their Degree Works audit to stay focused, on track, and graduating on time. For more details and an overview video, visit the Financial Aid CPOS webpage and FAQ.
