What is an ECU 1 Card?
The ECU 1 Card is your student’s official student ID card - but it’s more than just identification! Their 1 Card will be used for:
- Meal plans and dining accounts
- Access to University facilities – including their residence hall!
- Obtaining athletic and event tickets
- Entering the Eakin Students Success Recreation Center
- Checking out books from the library
- Providing identification at Student Health Services
- Holding spending accounts for Dowdy Student Store and Bounty Bucks
- Participating in intramural sports
How does my student get their ECU 1 Card?
After registering for New Student Orientation, new incoming students will receive an email from the ECU 1 Card Office with a link and instructions for obtaining their brand-new ECU 1 Card. Students should click the link in the email and sign-in using their pirate id and passphrase to upload their photo and approved government id. The government id must be a valid (not expired) photo identification issued by the government, such as a driver’s license, military id, passport, or state id card.
Students should complete these steps prior to attending New Student Orientation. By doing so, they will be able to pick up their new ECU 1 Card on the second day of Orientation.
After receiving their ECU 1 Card, students should keep it safe for their return to campus in the fall. If their card is lost or stolen, students can apply for a replacement card and pay a $20 replacement fee.
How do spending accounts work on the ECU 1 Card?
Spending accounts include a dining account, bookstore account, and Bounty Bucks account. All spending accounts can be set up to work with the ECU 1 Card.
Dining Account
- Once a dining plan or account is set up, it is used like a debit or declining balance account for meals or dollar value depending on the type of plan or account.
- These declining balance accounts may be used to make purchases at any of the campus dining facilities.
- Students can view Purple Bucks and Gold Bucks account balances and Pirate Meals on the GET site or GET mobile app.
- Purple Bucks can easily be reloaded as Gold Bucks anytime throughout the semester. Add Gold Bucks in increments of $20. Deposits of $20 or more may be made by cash, check, or credit card.
- To learn more or if you have questions about Meal Plans, visit the Dining Services website or contact them at 252-328-3663 or dining@ecu.edu.
Bookstore Account
- Once funds are deferred from financial aid or scholarship, it is used like a debit or declining balance account.
- This account may be used to purchase course materials, books, supplies and goods at ECU Dowdy Student Stores including the Main Campus Student Center store and the Health Sciences Student Center store.
- Please note: When ordering online through the ECU Dowdy Student Stores website, enter your Banner id number replacing the B with an 8.
- You may request a bookstore deferral by visiting the Financial Services Credit Balance Authorization and Bookstore Deferrals website.
- For questions about the deferral process, please contact the Cashier’s Office at 252-328-6886 located in the Old Cafeteria Complex.
- Students can view each account balance on the GET site or GET mobile app. See below for how to request a bookstore deferral.
Bounty Bucks
- Once funds are deposited into a Bounty Bucks account, it is used like a debit or declining balance account.
- The Bounty Bucks account may be used at numerous on-campus locations as well as some participating off-campus, uptown Greenville merchants. A selection of snack vending machines on campus also accept the Bounty Bucks account.
- Funds can be added online using
the GET app.
- Minimum of $20 deposit.
- Parents and families can add funds too, using the GET app with the student’s Pirate ID and date of birth.
- Additional funds may be deposited at any time. This account rolls over from semester to semester. Please note that you cannot transfer funds from other accounts to the Bounty Bucks account.
- Students can view each of your account balances on the GET site or GET mobile app, including the Bounty Bucks account.
