As parents and families begin to support their students in their transition from the K-12 setting to the post-secondary setting, accessing academic support beyond accommodations will be a critical but worthy process. Student Academic Success Services (SASS) offers a comprehensive first-year learning community for neurodivergent students who wish to develop or maintain a strong academic foundation.
Students enroll in a Freshman Seminar (COAD 1000) and common general education courses during their first semester to support their transition to ECU. These courses are paired with access to peer academic and professional coaching, priority tutoring services, and a shared learning experience with their peers. Students enrolled in the SASS Neurdivergent Academic Success Learning Community will receive early success monitoring regarding their grades and academic progression at ECU through ECU Connect. SASS Learning Communities offer tiered academic student success services at no additional costs beyond ECU tuition and fees.
