When will classes move online?
Alternative course delivery will begin for undergraduate students Wednesday, Aug. 26. Undergraduate classes are suspended for Monday, Aug. 24 and Tuesday Aug. 25.
What about graduate and professional students?
Professional and graduate courses will continue as they are currently operating.
Is it too late to withdraw from a class?
The university has extended the deadline for withdrawal from academic courses without financial penalty for the first 8-week block of classes to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28. The last day for withdrawal without financial penalty for 15-week courses remains Sept. 4.
When can I move out of the residence hall?
Many students may begin moving out of the residence halls as early as Monday, Aug. 24. We ask faculty to be flexible during the move-out period, which will extend to Aug. 30.
Can I get a housing and/or dining refund?
Students who reside in on-campus housing will receive information from Student Affairs Sunday, Aug. 23 that details the plans for prorated Housing and Dining refunds and for residence hall move-out.
Will there be refunds for tuition and fees?
The UNC System has provided guidance for its member institutions on tuition and fees for the fall semester, recognizing that instructional formats might change in response to the COVID-19 pandemic: “Tuition and fees charged for the 2020-21 academic year will remain in place and shall not be refunded by any institution regardless of any changes in instructional format that may occur for any part of the 2020-21 academic year.”
What about experiential learning?
For students in experiential learning courses, fall semester plans include the process that allows those programs to continue. For example, teacher education students in K-12 settings.
Can I still contact Student Health Services for coronavirus testing?
Yes. Student Health Services is available at 252-328-6841 and gotquestions@ecu.edu.
Is the Counseling Center still open?
Yes. The Counseling Center, 252-328-6661, is available for virtual appointments.
Will there be a call center?
Yes. ECU’s call center will open for questions from students and parents Monday, Aug. 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will remain open through Aug. 28. The number is 252-737-5100.
Can we please have a comprehensive list of what ECU classifies as experiential learning? I would assume performing arts falls under that category but I like to see a list in addition of the guidelines to classify as...see more
Will the student center remain open to serve meals for students living off campus that have a meal plan? Thanks!
