Did you catch the first Pirate Parents Live in our Umbrella Family Series? If not, don’t worry – you can watch it now!
During the month of March, we are holding a Pirate Parents Live series on Umbrella Families. What is an Umbrella Family? An Umbrella family is one where a parent, sibling, grandparent, etc. stands next to their student, holding the umbrella for them, that way the student’s hands are free to experience life at ECU. Our mission is to equip parents and families with their “umbrella,” the tools and resources needed to support their students.
Panelists from Academic Advising, Career Services, and the Pirate Academic Success Center discussed how students can finish this challenging year strong.
This conversation is about 45 minutes, so here are some time codes to help you get the information you need quickly:
- 5:00 - What students can be doing now to prepare them for the end of the semester.
- 11:14 - Resources available to students to assist them with virtual learning.
- 19:15 - Resources available to parents/families to support their students with academics and the job/internship search.
- 31:25 - Resources available to students who want to change their major and career path.
- 40:28 - Final advice from panelists.
